Thank you for choosing the McKenna Children’s Museum as a place where you and your family can come together to share fun times and special memories. We strive to provide a safe, fun and educational environment for all of our guests, and we thank you all for letting us share in your family’s adventures. To make your visit an even greater success, we would like to share these helpful tips with you before you join us.

Monday - Saturday: 10:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday: Closed
The Museum is closed on the following holidays:
New Year's Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
Admissions
We accept cash, check, Visa, Discover, Mastercard and American Express
Labor Day - Memorial Day Admission: $5.50 per adult and children ages 12 mos. and up.
Memorial Day - Labor Day Admission: $7.50 per adult and children ages 12 mos. and up.
School visits are also available at a discounted rate year round. Contact the museum at (830) 606-9525 for further information.
* All children must be accompanied by an adult age 16 and up.
* For safety reasons, adults are admitted only when accompanying a child. Guided tours for adults are available by reservation.
Tips for Your Visit
- Museum admission is valid all day. If you would like to step out for lunch, please feel free to return.
- Museum parking is free and available in all parking lots surrounding the building.
- For your convenience, we have a café that is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm. Please take advantage of some of their tasty and kid-friendly treats.
- No outside food or drink is permitted in the museum exhibit areas. There are lunch tables and picnic tables available in the café for your use.
- The Museum does not have space to store personal items. Please plan accordingly.
- In addition to the men’s and women’s bathrooms, the Museum has a Family bathroom for our visitors’ convenience.
- Please use one of our available changing stations located inside each bathroom when changing your baby’s diaper.
- Hand sanitizer dispensers are located throughout the Museum for your use.
- We regularly have scheduled programs and field trips, and welcome guests to call the Museum prior to your visit to inquire about a specific day's activities.
Directions
From the Austin area:
Take IH-35 south from the Austin area until you arrive in New Braunfels. Once in New Braunfels take the Walnut Ave. exit, Exit 186. Turn right onto Walnut Ave. and continue down until the intersection of Walnut and San Antonio St. Turn right onto San Antonio St. and the Museum is located on the 3rd block down to the right hand side.
From the San Antonio area:
Take IH-35 north from the San Antonio area until you arrive in New Braunfels. Once in New Braunfels take the Walnut Ave. ext, Exit 186. Turn left onto Walnut Ave. and continue down until the intersection of Walnut and San Antonio St. Turn right onto San Antonio St. and the Museum is located on the 3rd block down to the right hand side.
From the Boerne area:
Take Highway 46 from the Boerne area and continue down under Loop 337. Highway 46 becomes Walnut Ave. Continue down Walnut until the intersection of Walnut and San Antonio St. Turn left onto San Antonio St. and the Museum is located on the 3rd block down to the right hand side.
